Airlines operating in Delhi are making the necessary adjustments to meet the traffic restrictions expected at this week's G20 leaders' summit. These changes are likely to affect travelers going to and from Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. In response to potential disruptions, Air India and Vistara are offering passengers flexibility in changing their travel plans.
Air India has extended a one-time offer for a free date or flight change for passengers with confirmed tickets for travel to or from Delhi between September 7 and 11. The airline tweeted: "There will be traffic restrictions in Delhi between September 7 and 11. As a measure of goodwill, passengers with confirmed tickets to fly to or from Delhi on these dates will be offered a one-time exemption from applicable fees if they wish to change their travel date or flight. Only the fare difference for the rescheduled flight, if any, would apply."
Vistara has also made adjustments to its flight schedule, including cancellations and reschedules, pending expanded regulations for vehicle movements affecting routes to IGI Airport. The airline advised customers scheduled to travel between September 8 and 11 to check the Vistara website in advance for flight status updates to minimize inconvenience. Vistara offers a one-time change fee waiver for rescheduling bookings on the specified dates and assists affected passengers with rescheduling or refunding if necessary.
These measures should ensure a smoother travel experience for passengers during the G20 summit and the associated traffic restrictions in Delhi.
