As of the first week of November, 17.85 percent of civil progress had been made at the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport, according to the City Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), the hub of the project. The project has made a financial progress of 18.27 percent.
According to CIDCO, 50 percent of the total work has been completed in terms of rock cutting and site backfill. Filling work on the south runway is nearing completion and laying of the granular substructure will begin next week. In addition, mound excavation for the terminal building footprint area has been completed, 95% of the basement/foundation excavation has been completed, and the first mega-column base was poured on November 2.
Meanwhile, blasting and excavation works are also underway for Multi Level Car Park (MLCP), Central Utility Plant building and Navi Mumbai International Airport project office.
