Hyderabad Airport, one of the busiest airports in the country, is being revamped to accommodate an increasing number of passengers at the airport.

Currently, the airport can carry 21 million passengers annually. It is expected that upon completion of the renovation process, the airport will be able to handle 34 million people per year and more domestic and international flights will depart from Shamsabad.

After the renovation, the airport will have 149 check-in counters, 26 security checkpoints with ATRS and 44 immigration counters.

The cost of refurbishing the airport is said to exceed $60 billion.
