Civil aviation ministry shortlists 2 sites for Chennai's 2nd airport
 
Chennai :

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has shortlisted two sites, Pannur and Parandu, for the development of the second airport in Chennai and has referred them to the state government.

Out of the four sites proposed by the government of Tamil Nadu, the ministry has shortlisted two sites.

Pannur, Parandur, Tiruporur and Padalam are the four locations nominated by the state government for the second airport.

Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia told media that they selected two of the four sites and also returned them to the state government. They are waiting for the reply at the final site to start the work to ensure the second airport of Chennai comes to life as soon as possible.
