Work on the airside capacity expansion of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport (NSCBI) in Kolkata has been on hold for nearly a year and a half due to delays in relocating an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCLs) pipeline and land acquisition.
The NSCBI Airport in Dum Dum serves the metropolitan area of Kolkata. It is a hub for flights to Northeast India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China and Southeast Asia. It was awarded the Best Improved Airport in the Asia-Pacific region by the Airports Council International (ACI).
Officials told media that in 2018 the airside capacity expansion of NSCBI airport was approved for Rs 389.71
